Sweden won!SWEDEN WON!
With a never ending fighting spirit, the Swedish heroes managed to win the challenge last Saturday. The floor ball challenge between the Swedish Estonian Chamber of Commerce and the ESLY - Estonian-Finnish Business Managers Association - ended with a 5-4 victory for the Swedes. The Swedish captain Pelle Lindberg proudly explains:
"The game was indeed very tight and it was just in the end of the last period we managed to secure the victory. Despite and early lead and good possession of the ball, we did not manage to break the Finns already in the beginning as we had hoped. The Finns showed a great attitude in the second period and took the lead with with 4-3 in the very last minute of the second period. I must admit that the Finns deserved their lead and if our goal keeper Oscar Holmström (from Swedish Embassy) hadn't made his brilliant saves, I am afraid the Finnish lead would have been even greater."
- How did you manage to change the game?
"To the last period we made some tactical changes to put even higher pressure on the Finns, and with our positive attitude combined with our physical strength, we took back the initiative. With two minutes to go before the end, we had scored two marvellous goals and had the lead with 5-4. The Finns looked tired and their famous "sisu" ran out and with the help of our supporters, we held on to the lead and secured the victory!"
SECC congratulates the team and hope that next years re-match will be as exciting and well played. You can see the pictures of the match in our homepage.
