SCCE went to RuhnuAlmost exactly 62 years ago, on August 4th 1944, the native Swedish inhabitants of Ruhnu ( Sw: Runö ), fled the war and left the island for Sweden. Only two families stayed and today Ruhnu is the smallest rural municipality in Estonia. The total population, concentrated to Ruhnu's single village, totals 60 permanent inhabitants.

The summer tourist season naturally improves the population figures temporarily and in terms of the number of Swedes on Ruhnu, the statistics took a small jump as SCCE went to Ruhnu August 11-13.
