It created a lot of international attention as Norway introduced its law on gender quotas on corporate boards January 1st, 2006. The law is applicable on Norwegian publicly traded private companies and stipulates that the share of women in the boards should be between 27,8 - 50% depending on the total number of board members.

The interest was also big as Marit Hoel, founder and CEO of the Norwegian Center for Corporate Diversity, visited Tallinn last Friday in connection with a Business Breakfast organized by the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia and arranged in cooperation with the four Nordic Chambers' of Commerce in Estonia.
