image: Ambitious plans based on prudent fiscal economy Ambitious plans based on prudent fiscal economy It was an optimistic Prime Minister Andrus Ansip who addressed the member community of the foreign Chambers of Commerce in Estonia at a business lunch arranged by AmCham, Friday September 9th.

- We will continue to make the Estonian economy even more competitive based on a prudent fiscal economy, said Andrus Ansip.

- We aim for a R&D spending growing to 2% of the GDP by 2015. We will make the financing of the universities more effective. New International and European Baccalaureate programs will be launched in the schools. Named EstWIN II, a 4.000 km long fiber-optical network will be built 2012 - 2015 and will cover every Estonian village with a 100Mbit/s internet access.

- And from 2012, no fringe benefits tax will be demanded on employers paying for work-related education, concluded Andrus Ansip, thereby meeting a demand that the Swedish and other foreign Chambers of Commerce in Estonia have put forth since several years back.

On behalf of the SCCE Council I would like to
thank Prime Minister Andrus Ansip for an interesting presentation, and AmCham for a professional
and nice Business Lunch arrangement.

Sincerely,

Kristiina Sikk
Ombudsman SCCE
