Mothers (and fathers) could relax while Pippi Långstrump, the Lastefond Karu (Bear) and the Selver Tibu (Chicken) had a lot of fun with the children at SCCE’s Mother’s Day Pancake Brunch at Restaurant Köleri 2, Sunday May 12th.
Köleri 2’s Liisi Kulbusch made us an unlimited number of pancakes, and all the different homemade jams were used to form funny faces on the pancakes. Pippi Långstrump and her friends, the Lastefond Karu and the Selver Tibu, played with the children and arranged competitions ranging from picking-up-candy-without-looking-down to bowling.
- We are happy to sponsor this event as the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia will donate the net income to Lastefond for supporting their work with children suffering from handicaps, diseases and sickness, said Fredrik Thern, one of the owners of Restaurant Köleri 2.
- The Lastefond collection box is now up at our bar desk and you are all very welcome to come here and enjoy a meal or a drink and at the same time make a donation to Lastefond, added Fredrik.
- Lastefond, Tartu University Hospital Children's Fund, has a wide range of support projects and more information about our activities and how to support us is available at www.lastefond.ee, said Lastefond’s Marju Tomp.
On behalf of the SCCE Council, I would like to thank Restaurant Köleri 2, Blue Drum (who let us borrow Pippi Långstrump), Lastefond (who let us borrow their bear), and Selver (who borrowed us their chicken) for their appearances and support. And, last but not least, my thanks also go to all parents and children for making our Pancake Brunch to an event filled up with a lot of family fun.
Sincerely,
Kristiina Sikk
