- Since Tallinn Music week started in 2009, it has developed to one of the biggest indoor festivals in the Nordic-Baltic region. Without business partners connecting entrepreneurship with music, this wouldn't have been possible to achieve, said Helen Sildna, Head of Tallinn Music Week, at the Tuesday 17 March After Business Hours event arranged in cooperation with Nordic Hotel Forum, the Swedish, Finnish and Danish Chambers of Commerce in Estonia, and Tallinn Music Week.
- This year, the festival is presented by Nordea and among our other partners I can mention EMT, Elion, Nordic Hotel Forum, Tallink and Volvo, continued Helen Sildna.
- We expect to bring together some 800 music industry players this year and the artist line-up presents more than 200 Estonian and international acts from a wide range of musical genres. From Sweden we will welcome DNKL, Hurricane Love, Jennie Abrahamson, and Kate Boy. As for the audience, we expect nearly 20.000 music lovers this year.
- Tallinn Music Week serves as an effective networking platform for the music industry as well as the cooperating businesses, and it is of course also a springboard for emerging acts around the world to get noticed by international and local talent-spotters and media, concluded Helen Sildna.
Our After Business Hours event this evening was initiated and arranged by my SCCE colleague Kaire Papp and before we listened to Helen Sildna, Kaire had scheduled a get-together mingle with snacks and wine. And, of course she had arranged live music as well. The Estonian neo-folk music band Trad.Attack! performed exclusively for us and that was indeed appreciated by all of us who participated this nice and inspiring evening.
On behalf of Kaire and SCCE, I would like to thank Nordic Hotel Forum, Helen Sildna and Tallinn Music Week, Trad.Attack, FECC, and DECC for a good cooperation. And my thanks also go to all participants who really showed that music brings people together!
Sincerely,
