image: An Evening with Jazzkaar An Evening with Jazzkaar

It became a very nice Wednesday 27 April evening as members of SCCE gathered at Punane Maja in Telliskivi Creative City for an evening with Jazzkaar together with members of the British, Danish, Finnish, German-Baltic and Norwegian Chambers of Commerce in Estonia.

- I’m truly happy to see so many members of the cooperating international Chambers of Commerce being here tonight, said my colleague and SCCE’s project manager Kaire Papp as she wished us all welcome.

Kaire took the initiative to our joint Jazzkaar evening some time ago and left the word to Anne Erm, the Jazzkaar festival's director.

- The first Jazzkaar festival took place already in 1990 when Estonia was still Soviet-Estonia. Today, it is the most visited festival in Estonia where over 3000 foreign artists from 60 countries have performed through the years, said Anne Erm as she entered the stage together with Andrus Soodla, deputy director of corporate banking at Jazzkaar’s Gold Sponsor and SCCE’s member Danske Bank.

Following a get-together mingle with delicious snacks from Reval Café and wines from Prike, it was time for this evening’s concert featuring Becca Stevens and her band. Her music, influenced by the Appalachian folklore music from North Carolina in the USA, really turned us on and Becca actually got us all singing along with her.

On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank Jazzkaar, Reval Café, Prike, and the cooperating international Chambers of Commerce in Estonia for a very nice evening together. And, last but not least, my thanks also go to Kaire who took the initiative to our Jazzkaar evening and put the arrangement together in a very professional way.

Sincerely,

Kristiina Sikk

SCCE Ombudsman
