SCCE welcomes the Museum of Coastal Folk Foundation as a new member SCCE welcomes the Museum of Coastal Folk Foundation as a new member

The Museum of Coastal Folk Foundation operates the Museum of Coastal Folk and the Viimsi Open Air Museum, both located in the ancient seaside village Pringi on the Viimsi peninsula, just east of Tallinn.

The Museum of Coastal Folk

Located in Pringi’s cozy old schoolhouse, the Museum of Coastal Folk shows the many faces of Estonia’s coastal folk, their history and culture, as well as the contemporary seaside culture.

Exhibitions as well as educational and artistic programs demonstrate the harmony when land, sea and man meet, and the museum is thus a place where the beauty and simplicity of the coastal folk’s lifestyle is preserved.

The Viimsi Open Air Museum

Situated just by the sea, the Viimsi Open Air Museum consists of a complex of more than 150 years old seaside farmhouses. With Tallinn’s skyline in the background, visitors get a glimpse of the old everyday lives of the villagers, their work on land and sea, their entertainments and village parties, as well as their market days and holiday traditions.

Additionally, genuine Estonian food products are for sale at the museum’s farm market open between 10.00 to 14.00 every Saturday from January to April, and every Saturday and Sunday from May to December.
