Last week, members of the SCCE and the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce found out that tax planning, insurances, wines and dinner go together very well.

The weather was beautiful this Thursday afternoon in May, and Pirita Beach was still very much inhabited, as members of the two Chambers gathered for a seminar and a couple of After Business Hours together at Pirita's Restaurant & Lounge Pärl.

Introduced by Kristiina Sikk - SCCE Ombudsman, and Maren Diale-Schellschmidt - CEO at the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce; Annika Träss - Gencs Valters Law Firm, presented a set of tips for expatriate's tax planning, and Merit Ots - KindlustusEst Kindlustusmaakler, introduced a set of available insurance options. Following the seminar, SCCE took the opportunity to introduce and welcome Tiido & Partners Language Agency, Vallin Baltic and Seve Ehituse as new members in the Swedish Chamber.

As the sun started to set over Tallinn Bay, our four courses dinner, accompanied by six different wines, was served. Prepared by Pärl's Head Chef Inga Paenurm, the dinner menu included gourmet compositions based on salmon, chicken, duck and cheese. The wines, originating from Italy, Austria and France, were selected, and were also individually presented, by Jaanus Vabi - Sommelier at Kruger'i Veinipood.

SCCE's Chairman, Anders Hedman, took up Jaanus' challenge for blind testing the French wine. It didn't take Anders long to end up in the Old World of Wines, as well as in France and Bordeaux.

- But, is it a Pomerol or is it something else, said Anders.

Well, the wine in question was the Hyot Beausejour Bordeaux AOC, a very good red wine available at a friendly price at SCCE's member Kruger'i Veinipood in Viimsi.
