The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) was inaugurated in 1994, following an initiative by Staffan Burenstam-Linder (1931 - 2000) - former Member of the Swedish Parliament and Minister of Trade, and from 1986 to 1995 serving as President of the Stockholm School of Economics (Handelshögskolan i Stockholm).
SSE Riga offers state-of-the-art education through two degree programmes; the B.Sc. programme and the SSE Riga Executive MBA programme. Additionally, the school also offers a wide range of training and development opportunities to local and international clients in the private and public sector through the SSE Riga Executive Education programmes.
SSE Riga Executive MBA Programme
SSE Riga's EMBA programme focus on intellectual rigor with serious business training in a format that permits business executives to continue their studies while working.
The programme provides the students with knowledge, analytical skills, confidence and language, adding value to their career development, their organizations and the community. The programme is designed to allow the students to balance career, family and studies during two years of intensive Executive MBA studies. The class meets once a month for an intensive four days module led by the programme's international faculty members dedicated to student-centered learning. In addition, the programme includes a transcontinental study trip as well as a module which takes place in Sweden.
SSE Riga Executive Education
The educational portfolio offered by the SSE Riga Executive Education unit ranges from open programmes to tailor made in-house programmes. The client base represents the public as well as the private sector including companies outside the region. The programmes are led by an international and diverse faculty. In addition to SSE Riga faculty, programmes are led by faculty members from SSE Riga partner institutions, e.g. the Stockholm School of Economics and the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan, as well as by experienced business practitioners.
