image: Keep the grapes apart! Keep the grapes apart!

- To be more precise, the grapes have already done their job resulting in wine, and there are definitely more suitable berries and fruits than grapes to be eaten together with a glass of wine! Strawberries or a piece of melon for example, said our Sommelier Hannes Aedla at SCCE’s second Wine Academy session.

This time we met at Schlössle Hotel’s newly opened Suite Lounge, where the hotel’s manager Tendo Lindvest and his team had arranged sofas and armchairs around tables filled with delicious snacks, glasses and of course also our wines for this evening.

We focused on French wines from Prike - - this session and started with a sparkling wine (including a lesson on how to open a bottle of this nice beverage), followed by a selection of white, rosé and red wines.

Sparkling – Paul Zinck Cremant d'Alsace Rose Brut, Pinot Noir.

White wines – J. Moreau & Fils Sancerre AOP, Sauvignon Blanc, Loire; J. Moreau & Fils Chablis AOP, Chardonnay, Bourgogne; Paul Zinck Gewürztraminer Terroir AOC, Alsace.

Rosé – J. Moreau & Fils Rose d’Anjou AOP, Cabernet Sauvignon, Loire.

Red wines – Bouchard Aine & Fils Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Vendangeurs AOP; Barton & Guestier Thomas Barton Reserve Medoc AOC, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, Bordeaux.

Don’t miss the upcoming Wine Academy sessions

The next Wine Academy session will also focus on French wines and information on date, time and venue will follow soon.
