Anders Bengtsson, CEO and owner of SCCE’s member Stenströms Shirts, made yet another major donation to the Estonian Agrenska Foundation as the foundation celebrated their 10th anniversary with a reception at the Estonian Embassy in Stockholm, March 19th. Being the patron of the foundation, Estonia’s First Lady Evelin Ilves received a EUR 50.000 donation from Stenströms as a contribution for completing the renovation works at the foundation’s Tammistu Manor near Tartu.
The Estonian Agrenska Foundation aims to become a competence and rehabilitation center for families with disabled children. Based at Tammistu Manor, the center will offer programs leading to enhanced quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.
Together with the Swedish Ågrenska Stiftelsen, the University of Tartu, the Estonian Board of Disabled People, and Foundation Tartu University Hospital, Stenströms belongs to the founders of the Estonian Agrenska Foundation. Stenströms is also a pioneering and major donator to the foundation as the company bought the Tammistu Manor and its 52 ha of land for the foundation.
The foundation’s patron Evelin Ilves also received a second donation this special day as Estonia’s Honorary Consul in Gothenburg, Lars-Eric Boreström, on behalf of Vätterledens Invest donated a free choice of lighting equipment for the Tammistu Manor.
Later in the afternoon on this anniversary day, Evelin Ilves met Sweden’s Queen Silvia and discussed the additional funding needed to complete the renovation of Tammistu Manor. Queen Silvia is the patron of the Swedish Ågrenska Stiftelsen and the Queen also placed the cornerstone of the Tammistu center in 2007.
The Estonian Agrenska Foundation welcomes donations, and information on their activities and the donation opportunities are found at www.agrenska.ee.
