SCCE went to Tartu Monday 16 February for an evening out with several of our members in the Tartu area.
We started up with a visit to Stenströms Factory Store at Küüni 4 in downtown Tartu. Our member Stenströms Skjortfabrik have their production of quality shirts located to Elva, southwest of Tartu, and opened their Factory Store last year.
Fittings and purchases were made and after a nice hour in the Factory Store, we continued to our dinner table at the nearby Restaurant Polpo.
A selection of Tapas waited for us and they were enjoyed as we ordered our respective favorite main course.
As usual when Swedes get together, there were singing, talks and discussions, and a true spirit of cozy togetherness.
Gunnar Bergström, CEO of the Swedish HSF Group, was one of our members participating this nice evening. In addition to industrial production facilities in Sweden and China, HSF Group also has an extensive manufacturing on two locations in Tartu.
"There is room for more Swedish companies in Tartu. Right now I have 30.000 m2 available for rent and the localities are ideal for manufacturing companies," said Gunnar.
We visited Gunnar the following day and a report will follow in the coming issue of focus - the magazine of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia.
I would like to thank our Tartu members for a very nice and cozy evening together. My thanks also go to Stenströms Factory Store for keeping it exclusively opened for us this evening.
Sincerely,
Kristiina Sikk
