Companies in Estonia, that in their business operations ascribe to the principles of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, are welcome to participate in the enterprise competition Swedish Business Awards, this year held for the 10th time.
This year, the Swedish Business Awards are given in four categories and the competition will culminate with the Prize Ceremony and an International Conference to be held on 20 October at the Kumu art museum in Tallinn:
- Sustainable Growth Award
- Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year
- Young Entrepreneur of the Year
- Technology and Innovation Award
"The Swedish Business Awards competition helps companies to discover new business opportunities in both Sweden and Estonia. Companies that currently do not have any relations with Sweden are also welcome to apply. Participating in the competition provides access to new knowledge and networks,” says Sweden's Ambassador to Estonia, Mr. Anders Ljunggren.
“The Swedish Business Awards is an initiative that undoubtedly has contributed to the development of economic ties between our two countries and to getting to know each other better. The Swedish Embassy has the honor to be the co-organizer of this annual competition," concludes Ambassador Ljunggren.
All companies that have operated in Estonia for at least three years are welcome to apply and application forms can be downloaded from this website: www.swedishbusinessawards.com
Last year, Greencarrier Freight Services Estonia was granted the Sustainable Growth Award, ISS Eesti the CSR Initiative of the Year Award and Jevgeni Kabanov, founder of the software company ZeroTurnaround, the Young Entrepreneur Award.
The competition is organised by the Swedish Trade Council and the Embassy of Sweden. The initiative is sponsored by Ericsson, defence industry company Saab, EMT, Elion, the Swedish Institute, Enterprise Estonia (EAS) and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia.
The Swedish Business Awards enterprise competition was established in Lithuania in 2006. The competition is currently held in Estonia and Latvia as well and its goal is, besides recognizing local companies, to draw the public's attention to sustainability in business operations, and highlight innovation and the importance of corporate social responsibility.
