Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Estonia gathered for a morning session of the 6th Annual Investors' Summit at Swissôtel Tallinn on Wednesday, 21 October. The topic this year was “Technological Disruption and Change Management”.
Moderated by Sören Hejnfelt from Cloutex and Raoul A Nembhard from Patensha Capital, the summit addressed issues like; 'How does all the disruption affect all of us’? Do we need to adjust to the new technology era and change the way we operate on the market?'
- The logistics industry would gain the most and at the same time lose the most from the IoT, or the Internet of Things, said Claudio Richardson, Kuehne + Nagel, and one of this year's keynote speakers.
David Mothander from Google's Nordic Policy Counsel in Stockholm, said that we can attribute the recent technological breakthroughs to two main things; smartphones and connectivity.
- The role of social media is increasing day by day and connects not only people but also businesses on a worldwide scale nowadays, said Facebook's Gabriella Cseh.
Panelists from Transferwise, Uber, Citrix and InventureVC shared their experiences on how businesses should act on mobility, change management, business agility and disruption, and why disruption actually is good for the customers and the society overall.
On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank all speakers and panelists for sharing their experiences with us. My thanks also go to Swissôtel Tallinn for hosting us, to Daria Sivovol and her team at AmCham Estonia as the main organizer of the summit, and, last but not least, to the summit sponsors; Danske Bank, Kuehne + Nagel and Transferwise.
