The ice in Tallinn’s Tondiraba Jäähall has probably never before been so well polished that it became when SCCE gathered on Thursday 26 April to try out Curling – sometimes also called Polishing Diamonds.
It became an evening filled with high spirits, lots of fun, as well as lots of teamwork in the concluding tough competition!
Just like two years ago, we learned that delivering the stone has nothing to do with bowling; in curling you slide away the stone. And, by sweeping the ice you can make the stone go further. And if it should hit your opponent’s stone in the target, you can sweep in front of that one too to make it glide away from the target area.
As we went from the introductory practice to competition, we divided in four teams with teamplayers from AJ Tooted, Ericsson, Rödl & Partner, Stoneridge, Embassy of Sweden and Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm. And, just like it is in business, we experienced that teamwork is the key to success in curling.
On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank our event initiator and main sponsor AJ Tooted for an excellent set up and a very good introduction to curling. My thanks also go to our event supporters Wellness by Oriflame, Västerbottensost and SEMU. Last but not least, my thanks go to all our participating members for making this evening of teamwork very nice, cozy and fun.
Sincerely,
Kristiina Sikk - SCCE Ombudsman
