Cozy togetherness, a summer buffet with wine and one or two nubbe, and gas heaters kept our spirits and temperature high as SCCE gathered for the traditional Summer Party. This year at Hotel Telegraaf’s Summer Terrace on Wednesday 6 June – Sweden’s National Day.
Though the sun was shining from a more or less clear sky this evening, northerly winds made the weather quite cold compared to what we got used to during May.
However, nothing stops a SCCE Summer Party. A warm and cold summer buffet with wines and nubbe waited for us, all with a true touch of Swedish and Estonian summer. And, following the traditions, we rounded up with coffee and delicious strawberry cakes.
And, since it was Sweden’s National Day, SCCE’s Chairman Karolina Ullman performed Sveriges Flagga (Sweden’s Flag), one of the traditional songs this day. Prior to 1983, 6 June was known as Svenska Flaggans Dag (The Swedish Flag’s Day) and in 2005, this date became an official Swedish public holiday. Among the reasons for choosing this particular date as Sweden’s National Day are the election of Gustav Vasa as King on 6 June 1523, and the 6 June 1809 adaption of a new Swedish Constitution.
On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank the team at Hotel Telegraaf for a very nice set up of our Summer Party. And of course, my thanks also go to all our participants for filling up yet another SCCE Summer Party with cozy togetherness.
Sincerely,
Kristiina Sikk - SCCE Ombudsman
