Hosted by SCCE’s Royal Member Tallink, the first ever Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia Tennis Tournament took place at the Tallink Tennis Centre in Tallinn, Saturday 30 June.
The Tournament was played in doubles with Tallink Tennis Centre’s Coach Märten Tamla dividing our players in teams. The Tallink Tennis Centre is an impressive sports venue with 14 indoor tennis courts, 6 outdoor tennis courts, 10 badminton courts, 4 group training studios, and a large gym. We had originally planned to play our Tournament at the outdoor courts but cold northerly winds this Saturday made us move inside.
Tallink, Oriflame, Foodstudio, Västerbottensost, Semu, Nonna and Ampstükk had put up a very well stocked prize table and at this first ever SCCE Tennis Tournament, team Mikk Miller and Kristi Nõmper won the first prize; each of them got a Stockholm Cruise for two with Suite accommodation onboard Tallink’s cruise ferries Baltic Queen or Victoria I.
Team Gustaf Hertsius and Inge Suder took the second place with team Mart Nõmper and Julia Rahula on third place followed by the teams Priit Mäggi and Alice Salumets, and Janar Sutt and Karolina Ullman.
On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank Märten Tamla and Tallink Tennis Centre for an extremely well and nicely organized Tournament. My thanks also go to our prize table supporters and our member Catering Service for a delicious buffet. Last, but not least, my thanks go to our pioneering SCCE tennis players. I can actually already now announce that the Tennis Tournament will be an annual SCCE event!
Sincerely,
Kristiina Sikk - SCCE Ombudsman
