Thursday 18 October, members of the SCCE gathered for a workshop on Bodylanguage – Nonverbal Communication.
- Our bodies react to all information, starting from ten milliseconds, while conscious thoughts arise in approximately twenty milliseconds or more. The time between those two reactions is the moment when our true feelings are exposed without any covering mask, said Ülli Kukumägi, manager of Bodylanguageacademy.
- We all are individuals but there are certain similar ways where our bodies react on different emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger and fear, continued Ülli.
- Having the capability to understand body language will master our communications skills as well as give an early signal of possible problems or even danger.
- Nonverbal communication is context-dependent and very often further communication depends on the first impression. Therefore; When entering a room or meeting a person, smile!, suggested Ülli.
On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank Ülli for a very interesting workshop. My thanks also go to Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel for a great set up and a delicious workshop buffet in their Grand Panorama Hall.
Sincerely,
Kristiina Brodén - SCCE Ombudsman
