Nordic Aviation Group informs Nordic Aviation Group informs

Nordic Aviation Group was established with a resolution of the Estonian government on 25 September 2015 to guarantee flight connections for Estonia. The company belongs 100% to the state of Estonia. Nordica and the strategic partner LOT Polish Airlines started joint cooperation as of 19. November 2016. The cooperation involves a joint commercial platform and ticket sales system, as well as the sharing of airline codes. Nordica will provide services to LOT in order to increase the efficiency of the operation of regional flights.

Nordica's fleet is one of the newest in the world considering the average age. These types of aircraft provide time effciency and are especially valuable for business clients with a very busy schedule.

In cooperation with Lufthansa, Austrian Airline, and Brussels Airlines, the Nordica Corporate Program offers discounts not only for direct flights, but also on connecting flights in Europe.

Nordica has a number of valuable advantages compared to several actively operating airlines in Estonia. If passangers consider all the factors related to flying, from the location of the airport to what is offered on-board, and add up all the costs, they might discover that flying with Nordica is sometimes even cheaper than with a low-cost airline. These are some of our advantages:

  • We offer over 50% of direct flights to and from Tallinn – we operate on 20 routes during the summer season from Tallinn and 10 routes on foreign markets
  • We are transparent – the fares include all taxes and fees
  • The price includes 8 kg of cabin baggage and 23 kg of checked baggage
  • Our flights always land in the main airports of the destinations, which makes reaching your final destination significantly more convenient than from secondary airports
  • We offer free coffee, tea, and water on-board
  • Our passengers are able to collect points for the Star Alliance loyalty programme
  • Young people (12–25 years) can fly at a discount

The airline has grown significantly on both its domestic and foreign markets, operating 16 aircraft between more than 30 destinations and with bases outside of Tallinn in a number of Northern European countries. The running financial results for 2017 are better than expected and the company will end the year in the black.

The business plan of the Nordic Aviation Group, which operates under the Nordica trademark, has foreseen an increase in flights on foreign markets since the group was established, as its domestic market is not big enough in the context of contemporary aviation for sustainable operations.

The group is currently offering sub-contracting services to LOT Polish Airlines and SAS (using four of its aircraft to operate flights for both) and to local authorities in the Netherlands and Sweden (using one of its aircraft). In 2018 Nordica plans moderate growth on its domestic market and in its export services. It also wishes to obtain an additional back-up aircraft, since ensuring the stability of its service is, and will remain, in focus. In connection with this, 3-4 aircraft are planned to be taken into use in the coming year.
