- Measured in sales revenues, the accommodation and food service sectors took the deepest dive in all three Baltic countries last year. During the first three quarters 2020, the decrease was -33,3%, -33,9% and -23,9% in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania respectively, said Mihkel Nestor, Chief Economist at SEB Estonia, and Dainis Gašpuitis and Tadas Povilauskas, Economists at SEB Latvia and Lithuania at the Thursday 14 January webinar arranged in cooperation between the Swedish Chambers of Commerce in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and SEB.
Moderated by Morten Hansen, Head of the Economics Department at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, more than 140 members and partners of the Swedish Chambers of Commerce in the Baltics, as well as representatives of Swedish and several other foreign diplomatic missions in the Baltics, took part in this first and very interesting webinar 2021.
- On the other hand and in relation to the hospitality trade, the information and communication sectors grew with 18,4% and 14,6% in Estonia and Lithuania respectively, while Latvia saw a decrease of -4,6%, continued the SEB Economists.
On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank Mihkel, Dainis and Tadas for their presentation which is found on the link below. My thanks also go to Morten Hansen and my colleagues in the Swedish Chambers of Commerce in Latvia and Lithuania for a very good cooperation and a great premiere webinar 2021.
