FICE’s Executive Survey 2021 presented and discussed FICE’s Executive Survey 2021 presented and discussed

At a Wednesday 2 June seminar, FICE’s – the Foreign Investors’ Council in Estonia Executive Survey 2021 was presented and discussed.

FICE  is a lobby group acting on behalf of the Swedish, Austrian, British, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German-Baltic and Norwegian Chambers of Commerce, Business Clubs and Marketing Offices in Estonia. According to Eesti Pank – Estonia’s Central Bank, the nine countries represented in FICE account for almost 80% of the total foreign direct investments in Estonia.

- The Survey clearly shows that country reputation, education, availability of workforce, stable taxations and low bureaucracy are the key success factors for attracting foreign direct investments into Estonia, said FICE’s Chairman Heikki Mäki.

- The Foreign Direct Investors in FICE’s network are a strong backbone for the Estonian economy. They typically have financial resources and are part of the global value chain for Estonia and they have weathered the corona crisis better than average, continued Heikki Mäki.

Moderated by FICE’s Vice Chairman David Bailey-Lauring, the survey presentation was followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session with a solid line-up of panelists: Sille Kraam - Deputy Secretary General for Economic Development at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, Arto Aas - Managing Director of the Estonian Employers' Confederation, Raido Lember - Business Development Manager at the Estonian Investment Agency, and Urmas Varblane - Professor of Economics and Business Administration at Tartu University.

The seminar presentations are available in .pdf format on request to me:

On behalf of the SCCE and FICE, I would like to thank all participants and panelists for a very interesting and refreshing seminar.

Kristiina Brodén – SCCE Ombudsman
