Team Sweden’s Autumn Kick-Off 2021 Team Sweden’s Autumn Kick-Off 2021

Welcomed by Ambassador Mikael Eriksson and SCCE’s Chairman Karolina Ullman, members of the SCCE and invited guests gathered at the Ambassador’s Residence for this autumn’s Team Sweden Kick-Off, Tuesday evening 14 September.

Following a get-together mingle, Mihkel Nestor - Chief Economist at SEB Estonia and Janar Sutt - Founding Partner of Baltic Consulting Team took the floor for this evening’s presentations.

- Estonia; what crisis?, said Mihkel Nestor as he presented SEB’s latest Economic Outlook.

- Following the initial pandemic period, Estonia’s GDP growth has been remarkable with the IT and Telecom, Transportation and Storage, and Construction sectors as the key growth drivers. Furthermore, it’s full speed ahead in retail sales.

- The GDP growth will remain high for some time. However, the labor shortage will become worse but hopefully increased productivity will compensate, concluded Mihkel Nestor.

- Swedish investors generally find that the business climate in the Baltic States is good, said Janar Sutt as he presented the 2021 Baltic Business Climate Survey.

The Survey was conducted by Baltic Consulting Team on behalf of the Embassies of Sweden in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, and in partnership with Law Firm Glimstedt, Swedbank and Telia.

- Swedish companies in the Baltics are fast to adopt and have a strong market confidence. Despite the pandemic, Swedish businesses in general have managed to adapt their operations to the new circumstances and turned their financial results into profitable or break-even results, concluded Janar Sutt.

The coming winter issue of focus - the magazine of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia, will take a further look at the economic outlook and the current business climate with an Estonian-Swedish perspective in terms on commerce, trade and investments.

On behalf of the SCCE, I would like to thank Ambassador Mikael Eriksson, Mihkel Nestor and Janar Sutt for a very interesting and extremely nice Team Sweden Autumn Kick-Off.
