SCCE and other foreign Chambers of Commerce in Estonia, in cooperation with the Foreign Investors Council in Estonia (FICE), invite to an interactive pre-election morning debate Wednesday, September 25.

The local elections in Estonia will take place on October 20th, and this morning we will meet and debate with representatives of the political parties in Tallinn; Andres Anvelt (Social Democrats), Olga Sõtnik (Centre Party), Karli Lambot (Vaba Isamaaline Kodanik), Valdo Randpere (Reform Party), and Eerik Niiles Kross (IRL). The pre-election debate will be moderated by James Oates.

To fuel up our debate spirit, a breakfast buffet will be served and in this context I would like to quote Karolina Ullman’s, SCCE’s Chairman, editorial in the first issue of focus this year:

“For all of you who are not an Estonian citizen and think that the local elections are not anything for you, please note that having a resident’s permit in Estonia gives you the right to vote in the local elections. You are eligible to vote for the local government where you have your residential address registered. In fact, if you are also a EU citizen, you can even stand for election!”
