- In terms of doing business in a transparent way, how the states functions, to practice a responsible finance policy and realizing the importance of free trade, there are today more similarities between East and West European countries than there are between North and South European countries, said President Toomas Hendrik Ilves at his recent January State Visit to Sweden.
- We should focus more on the similarities than on the differences. As for the Baltic and Nordic countries, there are more issues that unite us than separate us in terms of our viewpoints on economy and politics, continued President Ilves.
SCCE continues the tradition of celebrating Vabariigi Aastapäev - Estonia's Independence Day. In connection with this year's 93rd Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, our theme will focus on Estonia as part of Northern Europe and Estonia as a Nordic country in the Baltic Sea Region.
The 2011 Reception will be arranged in cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia and the Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Chambers of Commerce in Estonia.
