image: Mood and Economic Growth Mood and Economic Growth

In terms of commerce, trade and investments, Sweden is in the top league on the Estonian market; What happens in the Swedish economy has an impact on the Estonian economy.

At this 28 May Business Lunch Buffet at the Ambassador’s Residence in the Embassy of Sweden, Daniel Bergvall, an economist at SEB Economic Research in Stockholm, will discuss current issues having an impact on the economic outlook with a Swedish, Nordic and International perspective.

“Sweden’s economy is slowing due to reduced housing construction and cautious household spendings. Furthermore, weaknesses in the German industrial sector, as well as negative and positive forces in the US, China and Europe, are altogether having an impact on the economic growth. Wages are rising but inflation is not taking off. Several central banks have now pushed the break on policy rate hikes. Have they shifted policy too fast, or waited too long? What role will fiscal policy play ahead? Will the mood and economic growth improve after the central banks’ policy shift,“ says Daniel Bergvall in the introduction to his presentation.
